I want an animal that loves to cuddle and be held and petted, I have tried for a very long time and this is what ive come up with:

Dogs- require too much attention, i go to school monday-friday for 8 hours a day and felt guilty because i didnt give it the attention she neede.

Cats- the laziest beasts ever! had a few and all they want to do is sleep, yawn, or look at you like you are entirely stupid (which i may be =])

Guinea Pigs- sweet little creatures, but a bit noisy and expensive to keep up =]

Ferrets- these are my favorite, such sweeties, but they are verrrry hard to clean up after…plus they steal your stuff

Any kind of rodent, spider, reptile is out because my mom HATES creepy crawlies and snakes and such.

So im thinking a Netherland dwarft rabbit. Tell me every thing you can about them im having trouble getting first hand responses from people. Which is the best breed, boy or girl, of course what ever i get will be fixed. What games can i play with them and how big a cage?
EVERYTHING you know would be helpful.

I’m fifteen currently, have two cats, one being mine, the other being my sistters, I feed them, brush them, give them water, clean out their litterboxes and even help my dad give my cat her pill. (to keep her kidney values at a good level)

We used to have 6 gerbils, but we no longer do as they died from old age. I kind of miss having a little pet around so I was wondering which rodent pet you would suggest. I’m kind of leaning towards a guinea pig or rat, but the only problem is I heard the vet bills can be quite pricey, and our money is a little tight at the moment because my dad is only a contractor and doesn’t have a permanent job.

By the way, I plan on buying all the supplies and pets myself, I have a job and get paid 50-90 dollars a month, depending on how many hours I work.

What pet do you reccommend for me? Also, are there any stores with pet supplies that aren’t so expensive?
Don’t worry, I don’t plan on buying them from a petstore. I’m vegetarian, and I don’t really support pet stores. ^^;

I already have 2 cats but i have recently been interested in a small pet. I’ve only had hermit crabs and fish before on a small pet basis. I don’t want a chinchilla or a ferret. However, i want something that will live for at least 2 years, interact with me and sleep in my lap, however not need me 24/7. I will have about 100-150 to start with, ive done research in Guinea pigs rabbits and a little on hamsters. I would like it to be litter box trainable but that isn’t necessary. Ok so I made her a booklet and everything. She won’t tell what she’s thinking about and avoids all conversation about it. I have 3 cats and i have thought about ways to keep the cavies safe and I wouldn’t even lets them in the room or the cavy out without a playpen. I’m not trying to be cocky but i’m very responsible and smart, i know i am. I understand more than people my age and i am more mature than most of my peers. I love animals and appreciate every little thing people say to me. So when I want my guinea pigs this bad and have done research on them, it drives me nuts! I try to ask her about it but she tries to avoid it completely! When i had my first 2 cats my mom promised me a bird. I was so excited but later my mom asked me if i would want another cat instead. I was younger back then and a little oblivious let alone caught up in the excitement. So i agreed and we got Carly our 3rd cat. I love all of my cats and my dad’s dog dearly but i want something new, I always have. I have gone from snakes, to terrapins, sugar gliders, hamsters and finally guinea pigs. I honestly think they are the best for me. One problem she won’t let me get one! (or 2) I appreciate all my animals but i want my own responsibility so i have someone who relies on me. I want responsibility. I love animals and i want to be familiar with different animals. My parents are divorced and my dad just got a dog. One of my moms concerns is that she’ll be stuck taking care of them when im at my dads house. I know they don’t like to travel but my dad’s house is literally a block away! ( i know weird) I’m getting my own room at my dads house soon because his house is going under renovation. I would take care of them in my room. I would have a cage set up there too probably still a C&C cage but a slightly smaller one like 2×3. I really want them and i don’t want to beg for them. I feel like she won’t talk to me and she’s not doing any research. I don’t even know why she doesn’t want them! It pisses me off because its like shes given up already without doing research. Like she hears me but shes not interested enough to give it a chance. If you could help me convince her or give suggestions thanks!!

Teresa Curcurio I appreciate you trying to help but i have done tons of research on guinea pigs, i’m a straight A student and im very mature. I’m fine with waiting but i just want a permission. I think waiting a month for a horse is different from waiting 6 months for guinea pigs. Thanks for trying to help but don’t question my maturity when waiting a month is a lot for you.

I have been researching a little about keeping Pot-bellied pigs as pets. [I still am but sometimes its a little quicker to ask on here ] and I have some questions (I live in the UK):

- Is it better to keep PBP in pairs rather then by themselves? Advantages and disadvantages of both?

-Is it better to keep them inside or outside (obviously not inside all the time) or a mix of both?
Advantages and disadvantages

-If I were to keep them outside what kind of space would they need (minimum measurements?) and fencing etc?

-How do PBP get on with older cats (ours are 14 going on 15 in May)?

-How much does it cost to keep them roughly?

-What kind of regulations are in place in the UK about keeping them?

Any other information you have I would LOVE. Tell me about your pigs or friends pigs

My options: Rat (already had two) Guinea Pig, Rabbit, or Cat?
A bit about myself: I am twelve. I am very experienced with rats and cats. I have a little dog that hates other animals. I move around a lot, like to different houses. I go to an online school so I would never leave it alone during the day. I have a ten year old sister who loves all animals and would want to get a second animal of whatever I choose. I’m most likely buying one from the Humane Society so my budget for everything including the animal would be about . I already have a huge cage from my previous animals, but I really need your help choosing what i should get next!

The dog is my mothers and she is the one who takes care of it. I need another pet because if I don’t go to Public school with tons of my friends I need somebody to keep me company during the day
The dog is a little tiny dachshund. It is very rowdy and wants to bite all the animals and people he sees. I live in a house. But I might need to move to an apartment soon.

Ok,so I’m 15 and got my heart set on being a vet,i live on a farm and look after the animals [there's cows',sheep,pigs,3 dogs and about 15 cats and 10 new born kittens which i look after] so anyway, i would like to learn more but tomorrow I’m leaving ireland to go bk to england and my uncle who is also a farmer is gonna look after it, can you send me links or anythings really that would be incredibly helpful!!!

For my birthday I either wanted a mini pot bellied pig, mini llama, or pygmy goat after doing lots of research on all of them they all sounded great and I couldn’t decide. So I asked my parents to choose which one they would want me to have.. They said the pygmy goat so my sheep could have a friend and because that’s the one out of these 3 in my local area.
So I found a pygmy goat in my town and had my dad call the man that had it.
We couldn’t get that one because we wanted a kid and his was a full grown goat.
The man said that the only reason he was getting rid of it was because it ripped the food bags open, Hurt the other animals he had(He said he only had cats and sheep), and it got out all the time.
The stuff I read about goats wasn’t like this stuff.
Are all goats like this? Or did this man just not teach his goat well?
So now my parents are saying I can’t get a goat.
I mean I really want one but not if its going to hurt my other animals.
