Ethanol, Global Warming, N1H1
You wouldn’t think that the subjects Ethanol, Global Warming, and N1H1 connect by our school themes, but they do! These are very different topics which you may think they would not connect. But they have small details that are in common, and it makes a big difference! Ethanol, Global Warming, and N1H1 are all connected by Power, Migration and Energy. Each subject connects to their themes in their own way, staying in our triangle of our school themes.
Ethanol will be connecting to Power, Migration and Energy. So will Global Warming and Swine Flu. Swine Flu started from swine in Mexico. Global Warming is all over the world. It is happening everywhere and it needs to be stopped, and our earth needs to go green. Energy-efficient cars have come from all over the world also, but mostly coming from the U.S., and migrating all over the world.
They are all connected together by power. N1H1 has started from the pigs in Mexico; gradually spreading around the world from person to person said Suzanne Bohan, from the Contra Costa Times. President Felipe Calderon is using his power to try and stop the spreading of swine flu. In Mexico he is trying to separate the ones with swine flu, and the ones without it. Obama is using his power to take Global Warming off of his list of concerns. Yes, there are many things that are very important in our world, but Global Warming should still be a concern to our own country. The car companies are using their power to make energy-efficient cars, ones that run on ethanol, not gas. This was said in the article Study: Cars go farther on electricity than ethanol. This relates to the book we read in Language Arts, Great Expectations. This is because Estella took over Pip, just because she had the power to do so. This is just like President Felipe; he is using his power, but for good.
These subjects connect to migration because swine flu has migrated all the way from Mexico, to the U.S. In Oahu there have been flood reports. Since they are close of the ocean many researchers believe that it is because of Global Warming. The water level in rising and it will keep rising unless we go green. These people in Oahu had to migrate because they would not live in flooded areas. This affects Hawaii because In April, the state saw 1.3 percent fewer visitors than in the same month the previous year. Daily expenditures per visitor were down 14 percent from 6 per day to 0 per day. The idea of Energy- efficient cars has migrated all over the world, but mostly in the places of U.S., Japan, and Europe. China’s has become the capital of solar and wind power manufacturing, and it aims to be the main source of affordable electric cars.
Energy connects to my articles for many reasons. USA Today has mentioned that an energy resource, gas, has prices that are lower now because of swine flu. It also relates to energy because over spring break, some US colleges urged their students to avoid Mexico as a vacation destination, said at csmonitor.com. Then the swine flu, which had its center in Mexico, caused bookings to drop by 95 percent in April and May. This saves a lot of energy, because airplanes take up a lot of gas and oil. Because of energy resources, such as gas, it has polluted the earth, said Eric Draper. The physicist Freeman Dyson has noticed that there has been increased attention in the last couple of years for his doubtful thinking about global warming, in a New York Review of Books essay, a New York Times Magazine cover story, and this week an interview with Yale e360. Energy-efficient cars are just what we need for our earth. They save our limited energy resourses, and use the other sources that are renewable.
Ever thought how Ethanol, Global Warming, and N1H1 connect to each other, by themes such as Migration, Power and Energy? Well they do in their own way. “Some of the scientists, I believe, haven’t they been changing their opinion a little bit on global warming? There’s a lot of differing opinions and before we react I think it’s best to have the full accounting, full understanding of what’s taking place.” George Bush said in a presidential debate, on October 11, 2000. Richard Lugar quoted, “By furthering the use of ethanol, farmers are presented with the opportunity to produce a cash crop by collecting their agricultural wastes.” As said before, these subjects connect in our triangle of school themes!
