I’ve wanted a pet pig for years, but I keep hearing conflicting information about the size they grow to. Some people have told me that they all grow to be around 150 lbs and then I’ve heard about a pygmy breed which stays about the size of the piglets.
Our pet pig needs her toenails trimmed, but she is not friendly. We want to help her, but we do not want to get bit. Does anyone have any advice as to what we could give her (medicine) to calm her down?
Hello, tomorrow I am picking up a 10 wk old pot bellied pig! It is my first time having a pet pig. And I am wondering what should I feed him while the pig chow is not here yet in the mail. I want to make sure he’s in good health during this time. Any tips will help alot. Thank you guys!
ok so my friend and i really want to buy a pet pig( a pot belly, type of pet pig) can you give me a website where we could buy one or learn how to take care of one. oh by the way would we HAVE to pay for vet stuff. like would they make us???? cuz we weren’t plaining on telling our parents. lol. o and does anyone have one that they can tell us some stuff about it???
My friend just bought a pot belly pig, to live with her and her son in their apartment. I’m surprised the apartment allowed that (at my apartment they aren’t allowed)
Anyways her son is allergic to both dogs and cats, so she got him a pet pig.
Is it true they make good pets?
Is it true they are some of the cleanest animals (even more so than a dog)?
Can they be housebroken? (I find that would be a major challenge)
What can you tell me about these animals?
Could anyone help me with this idea ive been toying with to get a pet pig?
I’m pretty much clueless on all of this so any help you could dish out would be much apperciated.
some things i really need to know would be
- how much do the pets range from
-sizes
-do they need a lot of vet visits
- can they really just eat the left overs of your food? if so, what kinds of foods, if not what do they eat?
- what do they need for outdoor housing
- what do they need for indoor housing?
- can they be pottytrained?
- after buying them do they generally cost much?
- do most seller/farmer/breeders whatever give them all their shots first?
- is it absolutly nessacery to get them nuterered (sp?) and spayed?

I would like to get a pet pig. I’ve seen videos of factory farms and those breed of pigs are quite adorable. I’ve also looked into the Vietmanese potbelly pig, but I’m not sure if they will always get really fat, because I’m looking for a breed that will stay the same size as a medium sized dog.
Does anyone know what breed factory farm pigs are, or have any suggestions to a cute smaller breed of pigs?

I’m interested in getting a pet pig, and I think that the yorkshire pigs are the cutest…I’m looking for any information if anyone knows anything about them or any books or web sites that have any info. Everything thing I’ve found on them had info about having them on a farm, and rasing them for meet, but I want information on them as pets in a home. I’m wanting to know if they make good house pets like potbelly do, I’m wondering about their full size; how big they get, if they do well with dogs and cats…pretty much any information will help…thanks : )
