My son is wanting a piglet, not so much a potbellied piglet, but he would take that also, but he really just wants one. It seems very hard to narrow a place down on the internet to find out information on them, such as health and food, plus prices on breeds, he wants it for a pet only. This is not because of the movie either he has wanted one since summer but while we were researching everyone said that it wasn’t the time of year to get them??? Any info would be helpful, thanks..especially the age to acquire and what time of year they are born..? Thanks in advance..I know they get very big and there are different breeds, we do not want this for meat please only as a pet..Pigs are smart.

I have a pot bellied piglet who is 4 months old. I just bought him a few days ago but I’m seeming to have an allergy to him. I bought him for 70 dollars so i just want what I put into him. I’m also scarred of someone buying him to eat him! I don’t know what to do. Someone cam over today to buy him, but he wasn’t small enough… hes a pig! what did she expect. I’m trying craigslist but its not working out so well, any suggestions?

I have a dairy cow that has been a great pet. She licks my face like my dog when I greet her. She also nudges her face in mine, like a dog. I also have a piglet that I adopted from another farmer. It follows me around with the dog by its side. I don’t plan on selling these animals. How can you Westerners be so barbaric?

So, I have recently heard of these ADORABLE, wonderful, perfect-looking little teacup piglets who SUPPOSEDLY stay the same size their entire lives. I have heard horror stories of people tricked into purchasing miniature vietnamese potbellied pigs, and after awhile, the end up looking more like sows. I know that the genes of these new designer piggies are all screwed up because well, hell, that’s what happens when you mess with chromosomes. Anyway, what, where, how, and why would be the reasons to purchase one, and how can I tell if it TRULY is a teacup piglet???

I want a miniature pig or potbellied pig. I want it as young as possible…It cant be expensive, just a regular old piglet.

This Danish went to some village in African country and told women and men to give up their name for his " Hornsleth" and poor villagers did that now 4 village of 300 farmers have been baptised with a second name in order to get a piglet@! poverty! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story "Charlotte’s Web", the premise is that a runt piglet (Wilbur) is saved by the farmer’s daughter from being "done away with" because he is a runt. But, he is still going to be slaughtered later when he gets big enough. A spider named Charlotte tries to save Wilbur by weaving webs with different messages to make people take notice of the pig and think that he’s special. The first message she weaves says "Some Pig". It’s a very touching movie and quite a tear-jerker with most people, I think.

So, again, my question is as above. Would a sign with the message "Some Baby" make anyone think twice about abortion? If not, why does a fictional pig illicit sympathy, yet an unborn human being does not?
jonmcn49: I agree, abortion is a terrible way to practice birth control; however, if life doesn’t begin at conception as you say, then what’s so bad about abortion? I mean, if it’s nothing more than having a leach removed from your skin, then why shouldn’t every woman do it? Isn’t it promoted as safer than childbirth? Isn’t it promoted as one of the safest things women can do and that a fetus at any age is just an object, of course until it takes a breath, and THEN it is one of the most precious and helpless people in our society, right? Can you rectify that for me?

i am Kim’s sis. i am gitting a pet potbelly pig in march. it will be only a few weeks/days old. i have never had a pig before and im not sure how to take care of it. what is all i need to know to take care of a baby piglet that will be an outside pet?
